UCLA HEALTH
SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR (2018–2020)
social media
The Semel Healthy Campus Initiative Center is a Chancellor-initiated effort to make UCLA the healthiest campus for students, faculty, and staff in the United States. Some of the highest impact initiatives, which the Semel HCI has spearheaded, include:
Creating the first health-oriented, award-winning dining hall on campus–Bruin Plate.
Supporting UCLA in becoming the first University of California campus to go tobacco-free.
As the Social Media Coordinator, my goal was to elevate awareness of the Semel HCI within the UCLA community and beyond. I worked towards this goal by developing and implementing various social media strategies, which increased Facebook engagement by 2586% in the first month:
Planned, created, and executed quarterly social media campaigns to boost engagement within the UCLA community, including the #MoveSwell (November 12-16, 2018) and #HumansofHCI (January-present) campaigns.
Increased number of unique visitors by 275% in the #HumansofHCI Facebook campaign.
Scheduled posts and monitored their performance across all social media channels using Hootsuite.
Analyzed metrics such as follower growth and engagement rate to inform strategies for future campaigns.
Coordinated social media contests to increase engagement by rewarding participants with extra chances to win when they tag a friend.
videography
In collaboration with UCLA Recreation, I created #BruinsGetMoving, a social media campaign where I directed and produced daily videos to share the wellness journeys of our very own Bruins. I brought together four fitness enthusiasts on campus and worked closely with them to curate a fun, relatable message of healthy and active living at UCLA. The students were given instructions on how to film, and I was then responsible for editing and marketing the videos.
