Almond Joy Smoothie [vegan, gf]
It has been scorching hot in California, and one of the only things that has gotten me through the non-stop sweating in this current heat wave is cold treats… lots of them.
This Almond Joy Smoothie is dairy-free, gluten-free, and refined sugar-free, made with only six ingredients. Like many of my recipes, this one is incredibly easy to make. Just toss all of the ingredients into a food processor or blender, and you’ve got yourself a cold, creamy bowl of chocolatey, nutty goodness within five minutes.
And no, this recipe is not meant to be a smoothie replica of the Almond Joy candy bar. It is, however, a delightful blend of coconut, almonds, and dark chocolate–the three ingredients that make this famous candy bar, well, joyful.
If you’re anything like me and LOVE chocolate and nuts together, this recipe is definitely for you. Enjoy!

2 Bananas, frozen
1/2 cup Coconut milk, frozen
1 tbsp Almond butter

Instructions
Add all ingredients (except for chocolate chips and almonds) into a food processor, and blend until smooth. Add more coconut milk for a thinner consistency.
Add in chocolate chips and almonds at the end, and slightly pulse so they stay chunky.
